You can share a file or folder with someone via Dropbox by selecting the Share option and providing their email address.  Follow these steps, depending on if you're using the Dropbox Sync App or Dropbox online:

  1. Log in to Dropbox and select the file and folder you want to share.
  2. Select or hover over the file orfolder you wish to share and click on the Share button to the right.
  3. Select Create a link to get a link for documentation or sharing in an email or enter the email address of the person/people you wish to share with

Note: If you select to enter email address(es), you can add a personalized message about the contents and purpose of the file/folder you're sharing.

  1. Click Share when your message is complete or Close the window after copying the link.
  2. Repeat this process if you want to share another file or folder

Size Limits

Issues may be seen when sharing/unsharing a file larger than 10GB or a folder with more than 10,000 files. See this page for more information.

  1. Find the file or folder you want to share
  2. Right-select on the file or folder and select the desired Share option:
    1. On a file: Click Share Dropbox link
      1. The link will be copied to the clipboard to be pasted into messages / documents
    2. On a folder: Right-click on the folder and click Share...

      1. Share Dropbox link - The link will be copied to the clipboard to be pasted into messages or  documents
      2. Share this folder... - Enter email addresses, change permissions as needed and add a message (optional)

        Size Limits
