Follow these guides to reset your domain password via a computer bound to the UNCSA domain. If your computer is not a domained computer, please change your password online.

Windows PCMac PC
  1. To reset your password via a Windows PC bound to the UNCSA domain, make sure your computer is connected to the admin domain via Ethernet before proceeding.
  2. When signed-in to your computer:
    1. Hit Ctrl + Alt +Delete to bring up a task list screen.
    2. Choose Change Password to be prompted for your old password, your new password, a verification of your new password, and a password hint.
    3. Your old password will be your current password; after entering your old password in the appropriate box, please proceed to create your new password.
      1. New passwords cannot be a previously used password unless said password has not been used for over six months.
      2. Passwords must contain at least eight characters but no more than sixteen and at least two of the following three requirements:
        1. A capital letter.
        2. A number.
        3. A symbol.
      3. After creating your new password, select Reset Password, and if the necessary criteria have been met, your password will be updated.
  3. When not signed-in to your computer:
    1. Boot-up your computer; if your computer was in sleep mode, please restart your machine so that it is on a fresh boot.
    2. Sgn in with your old password; if it is expired, the computer will prompt for you to update to a new password. If it is not expired, please follow the guide in section 2 above to change your password before it expires.
  4. Once your password has been reset, you may proceed to update your single-sign-on accounts with your new credentials.
  1. To reset your password via a Mac PC bound to the UNCSA domain, make sure your computer is connected to the admin domain via Ethernet before proceeding.
  2. When signed-in to your computer:
    1. Locate the Apple Icon in the upper left corner of the screen on the Menu Navigation.
    2. Select the icon, and open System Preferences.
    3. Under System Preferences, select Users & Groups.
    4. Under Current User, select Change Password and you will be prompted for your old password, your new password, a verification of your new password, and a password hint.
    5. Your old password will be your current password; after entering your old password in the appropriate box, please proceed to create your new password.

  4. After updating your password on a Mac, select Update Your Keychain or Create a New Keychain; failure to do so will cause the computer to constantly prompt you for the last old password it remembers.
  5. Once your password has been reset, proceed to update your single-sign-on accounts with your new credentials.


Note

If you have any devices using the ncsa_admin wireless network, such as an iPad, phone, or other wireless device, please remember to update your wireless network password on those devices. Failure to do so will result in an account lock-out if these devices are turned on and attempting to connect to wi-fi with an old password.
